1er urban sketch cartagena workshop

Hace aproximadamente 5 meses hice un taller de percepción visual, la idea principal era retratar los espacios, costumbres e instantes que nos rodean en el centro amurallado de Cartagena de Indias, los participantes tuvieron la oportunidad de tener mas confianza con los trazos y romper el miedo a dibujar con mucha audiencia.

en el tiempo de descanso hicimos una dinamica muy divertida, el fin era dibujar los platos que habiamos pedido antes de comerlo, no es muy facil controlar los instintos pero sirvio para desarrollar mas la acion resolutiva del dibujo.

Vaya dìa

Ayer tuve unos de esos dias de inspiracion, he estado trabajado un proyecto muy grafico y divertido para un cliente de Barcelona; precisamente ayer mi nivel de optimismo estaba por las nubes y me puse a esbozar lo que podia, eso es buena señal creo.

Precisamente ayer en mi momento de "euforia" artistica decidi reencontrarme con mi estilo mas sensual, con la figura humana; aproveche un trozo de madera que compre aqui en cartagena para dibujar sobre el.

Como se nota la diferencia cuando se vive en el caribe y cuando se vive en el mediterraneo; esto aqui es el verano eterno, el ventilador hace parte de la vida cotidiana, y los zumos son un deleite. Vuelvo a ver un mestizaje mas influenciado por los africanos, mucha piel negra y morena ypocos "rubios" con la piel roja de tanto sol.

Con este panorama y mi inspiracion a tope decidi dibujar una morena y el tipico pelo ensortijado.

me encantan los lapices de colores colombianos, son mas grasos da gusto colorear.

Lips in my mind

One of the sketches i'm doing for other project i'm developing with Mu illustrator, the first thing came to my mind was this lips, dont ask me why, but i'm looking foward to see how it will look adding Mu's vector skills, check out his work is really amazing.

This is the color palette i'd like to use for this lips, but is not clear yet.

Sketching/ "wake up girl"

Sigo en mi busqueda para acabar mi proyecto personal "wake up girl", he hecho decenas de bocetos y veo que voy encontrando el camino, estoy probando la posibilidad de crear mas profundidad usando desenfoques muy disimulados que sugieran volumen.

Este dibujo de arriba ha sido inspirado gracias a la foto de una amiga, por cierto, me encanta dibujar tatuajes en la figura humana, aquí podeis ver la foto.

Este puede ser un resultado que funcione, aunque sigo encontrando vacios.

Este de abajo es otro boceto que personalmente me agrada.

Ilustrar para el blog her fashion closet me ayuda a explorar nuevos estilos de ilustración, ahora quiero combinarlos con fotografia y tambien añadirle otro tipo de elementos que le den profundidad y volumen, estas son algunas muestras.

Sketching

It was a few days ago in Madrid, I had to wait for my bus to come back to Barcelona, I arrived too soon at the bus station. In the hall there was a girl in front of me, she had a special look, and her eyes were so blue, inspiring of course, so I couldn't resist to draw her in the way I saw her.

"pasta" for the belly and "pasta" for the pocket

This month I made the cover illustration for "Bcn week newspaper" the theme is about "pasta", In spain pasta has two meanings, is the food obviously and money, so i placed those elements and i think the result is quiet well.

Sketch of the day. i was walking around Raval neigborhood yesterday, and i had to stop at Angel square, this place is known as meeting point for skaters from everywhere. this moment deserved an illustration.

Bocetillo del dia. Ayer, caminando por el barrio del Raval pase por la plaça Angels (barcelona), conocida como punto encuentro de skaters de todas partes. Tanto ambiente merecia un dibujo.

He estado explorando mas estilos para dibujar pelos, en este caso me gusta el resultado. Afortunadamente tenía mi moleskine y lapiz a la mano :)

My new Colissimo holiday package illustration

France postal service decided to make a new design which will be sold in all postal offices and used by the whole French population in 2010 for every holiday!

I wanted to describe that moment when you receive a package, that surprise when the postman comes to you or your place. In the begining i thought to draw the typical monuments of the world in my own style, but i think is the topic, so i wanted to illustrate moments in some cities on the world. For ex: to represent France i drawed a girl riding bike, is the idea i had from paris; Italy...the typical Vespa bike, australia with the surfing people etc...
